This is the verse by verse teaching of 1 Thessalonians 2:1-9. Paul's ministry (and that of Silas and Timothy) was very fruitful and powerful. It was certainly not "in vain." It was so dynamic and rich, but it was not just because of the "power" of God and "much conviction" (1:5). It was also because of the devout, holy, and blameless lives that these "apostles" were living in front of these Thessalonian believers. Their methods and motives were pure. They were men of integrity. They were there to bless and strengthen the believers, not to take advantage of them. There was no deception, error, uncleanness, covetousness, or flattery. They made no demands nor request money! That's a startling declaration by today's standards. How every Pastor, Evangelist, Teacher, and spiritual leader needs to heed the advice of these anointed ministers. How they lived in Chapter 2 will be what they command the Thessalonian believers to live in Chapters 4 and 5. The PowerPoint file and lecture outline with homework are above.
