1 Thessalonians 03 - Strong in Faith and in the Word - Audio

This is a verse by verse teaching of 1 Thessalonians 2:10-20. As Paul finished Chapter 2 and goes into Chapter 3, he primarily concern is the "faith" of the Thessalonians believers. Are they strong in faith? Will they be able to withstand the persecution that is against them? He finds out that they are standing "fast in the Lord" (3:8). Faith is so critical to our Christian life, that we can be known simply as "believers." The apostles lived such dedicated lives before these believers, that they could charge them to live in the same way as "imitators." Paul wanted them to "walk worthy of the Lord." He also describes in troubling detail the persecution that is coming from the Jewish opponents. Their sins are so monstrous that they even "killed the Lord Jesus." Paul closes by speaking of the "hope," "joy," and "crown" that these new believers were to him. The PowerPoint file and the PDF outlines and homework for this session are above.
