This is the 5th audio teaching in the Anger Series. Pastor Charlie starts with the "angry spirit" displayed by the apostles James and John. After a Samaritan village rejected Jesus, they asked Him if it was okay to call down fire like Elijah and burn them up! These "Sons of Thunder" were ready to enact revenge. Jesus told them that they didn't know "what manner of spirit you are of." There was a spirit of anger emanating from them that they were totally unaware of. Jesus had to teach them that "the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's live but save them." John 3:17 also teaches this important truth. We then go verse by verse through the Book of Jonah, Chapter 4. We ask another critical question in this anger journey: Do you have a right to be angry? Anger is about rights. Anger is an issue of entitlement. So many feel entitled to be angry. Jonah was the last person who had a right to be angry because God had already shown him so much mercy. Sadly, Jonah remained angry to the end. He would rather die than see God show mercy on the people of Nineveh. Through a series of "preparations" (plant, worm, hot wind), Jonah was confronted about his anger.
